About the sugar figures: the "Sugar" number is the total per serving, most of which here is natural sugar from fruit, dairy or veg — eaten with fibre, protein and fat that slow it down. Open any recipe to see "of which added sugar" (0g across the starter recipes — none contain free/added sugar). Natural sugars still affect blood glucose, so use your meter and portion sizes as your guide.
Nutrition values are approximate per-serving estimates to help with planning — not a substitute for advice from your GP, diabetes team or dietitian. Always follow their guidance and check labels for your own allergies.
Today's plate
Add recipes from the Cookbook to tally your day against your targets.
Plan meals for the week, then build one shopping list from the lot.
Shopping list
Build from Today's plate, then tick items off as you shop — it syncs, so build on one device and shop with another.
Daily targets
Editable — used on the Today tab. Carbs are usually the number that matters most for blood sugar.
My allergies
Recipes containing these are flagged in red, and can be hidden from the Cookbook.
Dietary requirements
Use "Match my dietary needs only" in the Cookbook to show just recipes that fit. Calorie-controlled = recipes at or below 350 kcal per serving (or any you tag yourself).
💚 Foods I like
Add foods you love (e.g. chicken, salmon, berries). Recipes containing one get a green highlight, and "💚 Show foods I like first" in the Cookbook floats them to the top.
Foods I dislike
Add any ingredient you'd rather avoid (e.g. mushrooms, olives, coriander). Recipes containing one are flagged in amber, and can be hidden with "Hide foods I dislike" in the Cookbook.

Sync across devices
Keep desktop and phone in sync via a private GitHub gist. Paste a classic token with only the gist scope on each device — it finds your shared RecipeBox automatically. Your token stays in this browser and only talks to GitHub.
Create a token → use a classic token, tick only gist. (Fine-grained tokens can't access gists.)
"Add recipes (JSON)" merges new recipes into your cookbook (use this for recipe files). "Import JSON" replaces everything (use for a full backup restore). "Remove duplicates" merges any repeats.
